I'm excited to announce that the Notifyr - Notifications for Bitbucket Data Center 10.1 release is now available.

Highlights:

  • Notification management tab for administrators

  • System add-on conflict detection

  • Duplicate notification suppression

Notification management tab for administrators

Administrators can now view and manage a user's notification subscriptions directly from the user administration view. A dedicated Notifications tab lists all active watches for any user, making it easier to audit and troubleshoot notification configurations without requiring users to self-report.

System add-on conflict detection

Notifyr now detects when a conflicting system-level add-on is enabled in Bitbucket and displays a warning alert in the support & logging admin panel. This helps administrators quickly identify configuration issues that may prevent notifications from being delivered correctly.

Duplicate notification suppression

A new deduplication mechanism prevents recipients from receiving the same notification email more than once within a 10-minute window. This addresses edge cases where Bitbucket events fire multiple times for a single action, which could result in duplicate emails being sent to watchers.

Enhanced event logging

Debug-level logging has been added throughout the event listener pipeline, including push, pull request, fork, archive, and file edit events. This makes it significantly easier to trace notification flow and diagnose delivery issues via the Bitbucket support & logging tools.

I recommend testing the Notifyr upgrade in a non-production environment before upgrading your live environment. In some cases, Bitbucket requires a restart for the Notifyr upgrade to succeed.
